
SPOCAAS started as a small group of parents meeting informally to provide peer-to-peer support. In November 2008, SPOCAAS became a committee of Community Living & Respite Services Inc (CLRS). Today the group has an Executive Committee and an extensive membership of parents, extended family members, carers, individuals on the spectrum and members of the wider community. SPOCAAS meets regularly at Morning Coffee Club, Evening Coffee Club and monthly Committee Meetings. SPOCAAS also hosts special events that assist with education, promote awareness/understanding and most importantly assist with the wellbeing on the families.

Currently the committee consists of seven parent representatives, Linke Smedts-Kreskas, Elissa Plumridge, Sherri Cincotta, Melanie Portwine, Isabel Morris, Chris Lawrence and Anna Raftry with a representative from the CLRS Board of Management, Fran Galvin. Elections to the SPOCAAS committee open October each year. If you are interested in joining the SPOCAAS Committee please contact SPOCAAS or check this page for a nomination form in October.
