SPOCAAS TEACHER AWARENESS EVENT March 10th 2010

This event is open to all educators from preschool to adult years in learning environments. If you would like to come along to this casual late afternoon tea, please click here for your invite.

This event had a great outcome with almost 100 teachers attending from over 20 schools around the region!! Thank you to everyone who support that event. More details to follow soon.

Morning Tea with Onsite Fee Free Childcare

When: Generally the 4th Monday of each month, subject to change. Please check newsletter regularly for changes.

Where: Moama Senior Citizen's Centre, Martin St Moama (shared building with Moama Medical Centre)

Time: 10am till 12noon

Agenda: These mornings are casual.  Many families find they can discuss issues, current events and meet other families that have children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Guest Speakers are invited on occasion and activities are encouraged but not essential. These meetings are parent driven.

Child Care: Fee free onsite child care for pre-school aged children is provided between 10am and 12noon by staff from Community Living and Respite Services Inc. Children are engaged in age appropriate activies whilst parents are participating in SPOCAAS Morning Tea. Please bring a snack and drink for your child/ren.

Cost: FREE. (Supported by Carer Support Services, Community Living and Respite Services Inc and fundraising activities.)

                                                                                                                             Evening Committee Meeting - ALL WELCOME

When: Generally the 2nd Monday of each month, subject to change. Please check newsletter regularly for changes.

Where: Community Living & Respite Services Offices 26A Percy Street Echuca

Time: 7pm till 9pm

Agenda: These meetings are ran with an agenda and supper. General Committee Meeting. All Welcome

Child Care: This is a child free event. If you require in home child care to be able to attend, please contact Community Living and Respite Services inc on 5480 2388. In home respite is provided by Community Living and Respite at a cost of $2.00 per hour.

Cost: FREE. (Supported by Carer Support Services, Community Living and Respite Services Inc and fundraising activities.)

 

SPOCAAS Morning Coffee Club

When: Dates are indicated in the latest newsletter. Coffee Club doesn't run on public holidays and school holidays

Where: Savoury Bite Hare Street Echuca

Time: 9.30am till 10.30am

Agenda: Casual, no agenda.

Child Care: Please arrange your own childcare or bring them along.

Cost: Every parent registered with SPOCAAS is entitled to a free tea or coffee, Coffee Club cards are issued in interested carers name with a unique number. (Supported by Carer Support Services, Community Living and Respite Services Inc and fundraising activities.)

                            NEW ~ SPOCAAS Evening Coffee Club

Where: The Echuca Hotel, High Street Echuca

Time: 7pm till 8pm

Agenda: Casual, no agenda.

Child Care: Please arrange your own childcare or bring them along.

Cost: Every parent registered with SPOCAAS is entitled to a free tea, coffee, hot chocolate, beer or wine. (Supported by Carer Support Services, Community Living and Respite Services Inc and fundraising activities.)

 

Other Events

SPOCAAS hosts many different events, all parent driven. Regular events hoped to be included is Parent Overnight Retreats, Parent ASD Education, Parent Wellness, Autism Awareness Promotion, Fundraising, Outing and Family Gatherings. Please see "Past Events" below to get an idea of what we have done in the past year. Check out the newsletter or the SPOCAAS 2010 Calendar to see what coming soon..

SPOCAAS will also be inviting and encouraging ASD specific Guest Speakers and Workshops to Echuca as often as possible. These events are advertised in "SPOCAAS News", via this website and via email. Please ensure you have completed a SPOCAAS Registration Form to make sure you receive regular updates.
