December 2017 Newsletter

Suzanna Barry - Thursday, November 30, 2017

Our December newsletter is hot off the press.  I hope you enjoy reading our latest news!

As you will see on the front of our newsletter Martyn Lawrence was the guest speaker at our recent Annual General Meeting. Martyn's engaging presentation was very informative and was very much enjoyed by all in attendance. Martyn enjoys opportunities to practice his public speaking skills - so please keep him in mind.

Our "cruisers' have now returned from a wonderful holiday in the sun!  Watch our facebook page for some photos in the near future!

We have limited tickets (7 in fact) left for our upcoming cruise on the Pride of the Murray.  Guests will be entertained by local talented musician Benny Walker.  Get in quick to enjoy an afternoon of great company and music on Saturday December 9, 2017.  Tickets can be purchased here.

We're saying thank you!

Suzanna Barry - Saturday, November 18, 2017

This week, from Monday November 20, we're saying thank you to our community supporters with a Complimentary Cup Cake promotion. Monday - Saturday all customers of the Murray River Tea Rooms will receive a complimentary cup cake.

This is just a small token of our appreciation to the households of Echuca/Moama, Rochester, Tongala and beyond who support our Recyclability Program and the Murray River Tea Rooms. The weekly kerbside collection has enabled CLRS to establish these two social enterprises.  These not only provide great environmental benefits but most importantly create wonderful opportunities for people with disability to learn new skills and enjoy greater community inclusion through interaction with a wide range of community members.

Paige from Sweet Spot Cakery will be busy baking all week – so please call into the Murray River Tea Rooms at 10 Meninya Street Moama and say hello to the team. Your cup cake will be complimentary each day with any purchase of absolutely anything at all from the Tea Rooms. We know the cakes will be delicious so they will be limited to 1 per customer per day. You’re welcome to call in every day!

This promotion coincides with Community and Philanthropy Partnerships week – so a perfect time to celebrate the achievements of our community.

We’re also releasing a video that showcases the community support of the Tea Rooms – so keep a watch out on our social media pages on Tuesday November 21.

Thank you again for your valued support!

November 2017 Celebrations

Suzanna Barry - Saturday, October 28, 2017

We had a fantastic October, with the completion of the Opening Doors Project, winning the GMCU Allianz Campaspe Business Awards and our AGM. November is set to be just as busy with a few key events:

National Recycling Week: Nov 13 – 19

We are celebrating with week- long specials at the Murray River Tea Rooms and our Number 4 Op Shop. To launch the week on Monday November 13, we have a 50% off sale at both shops, on all Op Shop items. Daily specials will be announced on social media each evening. CLRS collects around 1 tonne of product locally each week through the Recyclability Kerbside Collection. This is diverting items from landfill and promoting re-use and recycling. Now that’s an achievement to celebrate!

Community & Philanthropy Partnerships Week (#CPPWeek): Nov 20 – 26

We’re celebrating the wonderful partnerships that sustain the Murray River Tea Rooms, by rewarding all our Tea Rooms customers with a Complimentary Cup Cake week. Call in any or every day this week and receive a free Cup Cake with your purchase. We are also launching a video that highlights what can be achieved when community works together. A big thank you to everyone who donates to the Recyclability Kerbside Collection, to our volunteers, customers, staff and corporate sponsors. Your support is providing life changing opportunities for people with disability in our community. Please call in and enjoy a complimentary cup cake!

Johnno’s Run End of Year BBQ – Monday Nov 27, 5.30 pm – 7 pm at the entrance to Scenic Drive Echuca.

Come along for a walk, run or for a BBQ dinner to celebrate all that has been achieved this year. Celebrate the friendships, the fitness, the accomplishments and the personal satisfaction of helping to build the Opening Doors Project. Gold coin donation – please RSVP to events@clrs.org.au for catering purposes. Thank-you to the Echuca Lions who will be cooking the BBQ.

If you didn’t participate in Johnno’s Run this year, but are interested in finding out more, please come along. Everyone is welcome.

I look forward to catching up with you during November!

Kind regards

Our final newsletter for 2016 has been released.  It has been a busy and productive year, and once again Community Living & Respite Services Inc. has appreciated the support of our community.

This past year our Opening Doors Ambassadors have worked very hard to raise the awareness of CLRS and our Opening Doors Project.  We are delighted to share a video showcasing their passion and commitment, as part of the Community Philanthropy and Partnerships Week Celebration.
