It’s hard to believe the month has flown by!

We are very pleased to let you know that our block of land in Eyre Street Echuca is now a building site.  Mark O’Mahoney Constructions has been awarded the project, and aims to have the house and units built by late July 2017.  This project has become a reality thanks to the wonderful support of the community, CLRS volunteers and staff, the Opening Doors Project Ambassadors and a grant of $350,000 from the Federal Government.  We will continue fundraising for the set up and establishment costs, and will direct all proceeds from our 11th Annual Dinner and Johnno’s Run 2017 to this project.

Our Murray River Tea Rooms project is also progressing thanks to the support of Murray River Council and the community.  We have leased 10 Meninya Street Moama, previously the site of the Moama Newsagency.  This will be a social enterprise, providing training and experience for people with disability, supported by CLRS staff and volunteers and the community.  We aim to have the Tea Rooms open for business early April 2017.

We are thrilled to extend our congratulations to Brady Threlfall, who was recognized on Australia Day as the Murray River Council 2016 Sports Person of the Year.  Brady is a valued supporter of Community Living & Respite Services and is an advocate for enhanced services for people with disability.   Congratulations Brady!

Thank you for your ongoing support,

Suzanna Barry

CEO
